The home improvement market has not experienced substantial growth for a few years now with declining sales of mainstream PVCu systems and composite doors. There have been some exceptions to this from companies that have introduced new and innovative products during the previous difficult trading period.
Origin have recently expanded into larger premises demonstrating the success of their aluminium bifolding doors
Origin Frames manufacture the industry leading Origin Bifolding Door that has experienced year on year growth for the company. They have now expanded their Buckinghamshire manufacturing facility.
New Manufacturing methods and innovative service levels have resulted in yet more growth for Origin Doors
Origin Doors have led the way with their innovative ‘Your Lead Time, Not Ours’ service which in 2011 removed traditional lead times on bifolding doors that were typically about 4 weeks for delivery by other companies.
Origin also introduced a unique 20 year Guarantee on their aluminium bifolding door that was again an industry first and has yet to be matched.
In 2013 a new “flow line” system was brought in that have each factory operative a clearly defined role in the manufacturing process for bifolding doors. This resulted in a more streamlined method of working, improved efficiency and each task broken down to each operative.
Origin has been doubling capacity of bifolding doors year on year with continued investment in new machinery, tooling, storage and factory resources.
The innovative processes and service levels by Origin have helped them to grow into even larger premises.
Origin doors now have an expanded 18,000 sq ft x 40,000 sq ft manufacturing facility that will not only support the flow line and lean manufacturing ethos of the company but will further ensure they meet their exemplary record for on time deliveries under the Your Lead Time Not Ours service.
The company opened a Dubai operation in the last few years and more recently an American base. This new larger factory will ensure capacity can be met for doors sold in the UAE and United States.
